Kinematic Viscosity Tester

Product Overview

The ZWND2001 Petroleum Kinematic Viscosity Tester measures the time required for a specified volume of liquid to flow through a calibrated glass capillary viscometer under gravity at a controlled temperature. It calculates kinematic viscosity by multiplying the measured flow time by the viscometer constant.

Designed for ASTM D445 and GB/T 265-1988 testing, the instrument combines a constant-temperature bath, four test positions, touchscreen timing, automatic data validation, viscosity calculation, record storage, and thermal printing. It is suitable for petroleum laboratories, oil quality control, power utilities, and research facilities.

 

Functions and Value:

  • Four-Position Testing: Accommodates up to four glass capillary viscometers at the same bath temperature, allowing multiple petroleum samples to be tested efficiently without mutual interference.

  • Precise Bath Control: Fuzzy PID technology maintains stable temperature conditions for reliable viscosity measurement and also allows the instrument to operate as a general-purpose constant-temperature bath.

  • Flexible Temperature Settings: Supports standard test temperatures of 20°C, 40°C, 50°C, 80°C, and 100°C, as well as user-defined temperatures above ambient.

  • Automatic Viscosity Calculation: Calculates kinematic viscosity in mm²/s from the measured flow time and the entered capillary viscometer constant, reducing manual calculation errors.

  • Repeatability Validation: Supports one to four timing measurements for each viscometer. During standard testing, the system evaluates timing consistency, rejects out-of-tolerance values, and averages the valid results.

  • Adjustable Test Cycles: Operators can select fewer timing cycles for a rapid estimate or four cycles for a more rigorous viscosity result according to the standard method.

  • Individual Viscometer Parameters: The capillary diameter and calibration constant can be entered separately for each of the four test positions, supporting different viscometer configurations.

  • Touchscreen Operation: The color LCD touchscreen clearly displays real-time bath temperature, set temperature, four independent timers, test parameters, and calculated results.

  • Integrated Data Management: Stores up to 2,000 test records, including the test number, date, time, and kinematic viscosity result for convenient traceability.

  • Automatic Result Printing: The built-in thermal printer can output sample information, test time, viscometer parameters, and calculated kinematic viscosity after measurement.
