PI and DAR are advanced diagnostic metrics. Instead of a single resistance reading, they measure how insulation behaves over time, helping engineers detect moisture, dirt, or insulation degradation inside transformers and generators.
The 4-wire method is the most accurate technique available. It eliminates measurement errors caused by the contact resistance and the test leads’ own resistance, making it essential for complex grounding networks and precision measurements.
