Frequently Asked Questions
Need more information about the ZWWS101? Contact our engineers for expert technical support and application guidance.
The ZWWS101 uses Karl Fischer coulometric titration. Iodine is generated electrochemically in the titration cell, and the instrument determines the water content according to the electrical charge consumed during the reaction. This method is suitable for trace moisture analysis in a wide range of samples.
The measurement range is 0 µg to 200 mg, with a sensitivity of 0.1 µg H₂O. The stated accuracy is ±3 µg for measurements from 10 µg to 1000 µg, and not greater than ±0.3% for measurements above 1 mg.
Yes. The ZWWS101 can measure liquid samples directly through the sample port. Solid samples can be introduced with a suitable solid sample injector or water evaporator. Gas samples can be tested with a compatible gas injector. For gas measurement, the manual specifies approximately 150 mL of electrolytic solution in the anode chamber and a stable gas flow of approximately 100 mL/min.
Before sample testing, the reagent must reach a normal and stable condition, and the blank current should be minimized. The ZWWS101 monitors blank-current-related values and can store the blank current caused by moisture absorbed from the air or titration cell.
Proper sealing, drying, reagent adjustment, and stable stirring are also important for obtaining reliable low-moisture results. Because the Karl Fischer reagent may contain odorous, toxic, and flammable components, reagent handling should be performed in a well-ventilated area or fume hood.
